OK Romain, I'm with you on the the Haas car having potential, but we need a bit more of the season under our belt to make this claim. Here's to hoping.

This Trick Never Works, This Time For Sure!

Well the powers at large in F1 reverted back to the old method of qualifying realizing it was a train wreak. Well not exactly they have thrown the train in reverse and decided to keep the "new" qualifying procedure in place. And after the train wreaks again they will declare victory and keep the new format. Why, because people in power can never admit to mistakes. That's just the way it is in the land of Bernie.
Can't wait to see how the explain the mess this time.

F! Qualy Is A Stinking Mess

This was a cluster dump. I doubt the F1 powers at large will admit this was a disaster so I figure they will try to tweak it a few times before they scrap it. Management never admits a mistake.
This ended in a snoreapalooza. I'm waiting to hear Bernie's half witted comments. Here's an idea for the F1 committee that thought of this.......The drivers have to park their cars on the track when their time runs out creating a gauntlet for other drivers to drive around.
Or lets get all Roman on this and let the fans in the stands give a thumbs up or thumbs down on whether the drivers get to complete the lap time when time runs out. Maybe throw the F1 committee that thought of this into the lions pit. Let the games begin!

American Development Driver For Haas F1

Haas F1 Team has announced American Santino Ferrucci as their development driver.

Ferrucci is campaigning the full GP3 Series schedule in 2016 for DAMS while using every opportunity available to immerse himself in Haas F1 culture.
“My goal since I first started racing was to become a Formula One driver, and to be an American who is part of an American team is something I take a tremendous amount of pride in,” said Ferrucci. “There is still a lot of work I need to do, but being paired with Haas F1 Team will allow me to learn more and at a faster rate. It’ll allow me to make the most of my GP3 drive with DAMS and, ultimately, prepare me for Formula One.”

OK F1 junkies here's you dose of info on the testing at Barcalona. Ted Kravitz of Sky along with Will Buxton of NBC Sports and Anthony Rowlinson go over all the testing an F1 fanatic could want. They cover teams, engines, the Halos, and the new qualification system.

Halo......Maybe...... or Goodbye

I understand the driver safety issue, but I'm not sure the "halo" protection is the right answer. Granted Kimi (a man of few words)  was quoted as saying it was "okay", I would be curious to hear other drivers opinion on the visibility issues.  Should FIA and Formula 1 mandate it no.........should the driver have the decision to use the halo yes. There was a reason why your street car does not have a window center post, visibility. I have passed on buying a car because the center mirror was a visibility distraction. That was my decision and it should be the F1 drivers decision to use the halo or not. I'd like to see more alternatives before a decision. 

Exorcise The Ferrari Engine Gremlins Please

The last 2 days of testing in Barcelona have been dreadful. Haas and other Ferrari clients have had a few gremlin issues with the Ferrari engine. Enough to keep Estaban off track for 2 days. 

According to Guenther Steiner, Team Principal, Haas F1 Team “We changed the turbocharger last night and this morning on the installation lap we saw an anomaly. When the car entered the garage we decided to take the turbocharger off and check it to see what was going on. The aim was to get out again today. Obviously, that wasn’t possible and we didn’t manage any further running.

“These cars are very complex. However, everybody is working hard to get the car ready for tomorrow. We’re very positive we can achieve that and get us back on track. We’ll keep on trying, we’ll keep working hard and then we’ll have success.”

Well tomorrow is a new day so lets hope they can move those demons and Romain has a quality 2 day run for Haas for the remainder of the tests.
